NBA: James stars as Heat seal second

The Miami Heat sealed second place in the Eastern Conference as LeBron James led them to a 98-90 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
James scored 34 points as the Heat held off the rallying Hawks in the fourth quarter to make sure of second spot, courtesy of the Boston Celtics' 95-94 overtime defeat in Washington.
Boston rested Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo with an eye on the play-offs, and they paid the price as John Wall's 24 points and nine rebounds led the Wizards to victory.
In the West, 23 points and 12 rebounds from Dirk Nowitzki helped the Dallas Mavericks to a 98-91 overtime win over the Houston Rockets, taking them half a game clear of the Los Angeles Lakers in second.
DJ Augustin was the star for the Charlotte Bobcats as they beat the New Jersey Nets 105-103.
Augustin had 19 points and 11 assists, but his most striking contribution was a jump shot with 1.1 seconds remaining to win a game which had been tied up by Sasha Vujacic's three-pointer moments earlier.
The Oklahoma City Thunder won their third fifth straight, using 32 and 30-point contributions from Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook respectively to see off the Sacramento Kings 120-112.
The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons 110-101 in a game which saw Ryan Hollins and Charlie Villanueva ejected, while Dwight Howard notched up 19 points and 13 rebounds on his return from suspension, helping the Orlando Magic to a 95-85 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Utah Jazz beat the New Orleans Hornets 90-78, the Milwaukee Bucks were 93-86 victors over the Toronto Raptors, the Denver Nuggets secured fifth place in the West with a 134-111 win over the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns saw off the Minnesota Timberwolves 135-127 in overtime.(ESPNSTAR)
